Adrian DiMatteo is a guitarist, vocalist, flautist, composer, and multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the relationship between music, culture, tradition, and human consciousness. Trained initially in jazz guitar performance at the Eastman School of Music, his practice has evolved through extensive study of global musical traditions, including Peruvian flute traditions and sacred music practices from diverse cultures around the world.

Drawing from both contemporary and ancestral forms of music-making, Adrian’s work reflects an ongoing interest in sound as both an artistic medium and a cultural language. His repertoire includes original compositions alongside traditional and folk music that engage with questions of history, identity, ritual, and collective human experience.

In addition to his performance practice, Adrian works as a writer, educator, and researcher focused on the intersection of sound, perception, and wellbeing. He is the founder of Sonic Institute, author of Elements of Sound: A Full-Spectrum Exploration of Sound and Consciousness, and creator of Chord Atlas, a platform designed to expand approaches to music education and theory.

Through his work across performance, research, and education, Adrian continues to investigate how sound functions not only as an artistic practice, but also as a framework through which individuals and communities understand culture, communication, and human connection.
